Overview
The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) has a requirement for one (1) ICT business analyst to work with the levies administration and compliance business area within the Finance and Investment Division to develop and document levies system and software provider requirements.
The Role
The role includes:
- Identifying, investigating, and analysing business processes, procedures and work practices relating to the collection, administration and disbursement of primary industries levies and charges, which may include cloud-based software options, contemporary system architecture, and user functionality
- Identifying and evaluating inefficiencies and recommending optimal business practices and system functionality and behaviour, including to the external levies system interface
- Using project management methodologies, principles, and techniques to develop project plans and to cost, resource and manage the delivery of system and software provider requirements
- Taking responsibility for deploying functional solutions, including creating, adopting and implementing system test plans to ensure acceptable quality and integrity of the systems and to identify gaps in user and training documentation
- Developing functional specifications for use by system developers
- Using data and process modelling techniques to create clear system specifications for the design and development of system software
- Functioning as the central reference and information source, providing guidance and assistance in the system project decision-making process
