Full Stack Solutions Developer

The ACMA is currently investing in the analysis, development, and provisioning of end-to-end digital services that:

  • Improve ACMA clients and customers productivity, and increased satisfaction with the ACMA
  • Provide ACMA staff with better tools and digitised processes to reduce their workload
  • Deliver a single view of clients, compliance, enforcement, and other activities that underpin service delivery at the ACMA
  • Inform decision making through actionable insights resulting from the analysis of ACMA’s data assets

As a full stack solutions developer at the ACMA, will join a team of experienced developers, forming part of the agile delivery team that is responsible for the ongoing scoping, development, testing and delivery of new Digital Services.

Reporting to the Section Manager, this role in DTS will have a direct impact in helping our cross-functional teams deliver incremental value in digital services to the business and end user. You will work with key technical and business stakeholders as a member of the delivery team, with the purpose of understanding and meeting the needs of ACMA clients and internal users. You will utilise your technical skills as a developer to build digital services that meet their needs in the latest technology stack with modern tools and services.

This role will sit within the Spectrum Management System (SMS) Project Digital Delivery Team.

This role will work with the SMS Project Manager across two ACMA divisions to enable the Spectrum Management System (SMS) Project to achieve its digital development aims and outcomes.

The ACMA’s SMS Project is an ACMA initiative to replace the core Spectrum Management System (SMS). The SMS plays a vital role in the management of radiocommunications and broadcasting licensing in Australia.

In the 2020-21 financial year, the ACMA issued over 12,000 licences and renewed a further 158,000+ licences. The vast majority were for radiocommunications with around 200 being for broadcasting. The ACMA interacts with over 30,000 licensees, and more than 50 Accredited Persons, who act on behalf of licensees to make applications for licences where frequency is assigned. Other key stakeholders span radiocommunications organisations, emergency services, Defence, and other key government service providers.

This Project will deliver a modern SMS providing the ACMA's personnel with an intuitive platform for planning, licensing and enforcement activities and enable the delivery of contemporary and accessible digital services to ACMA clients.

The contract was awarded in April 2024, and the project is currently in the Alpha phase. This role will sit within the Project internal digital delivery team that will work alongside the successful Vendor’s digital team and together deliver the ACMA’s end to end spectrum outcomes
