Dalgety Downs Glenburgh Rd Upgrade

⁠⁠⁠Overview

The Shire of Upper Gascoyne invites tenders for the upgrade of specific segments of the Dalgety Downs Glenburgh Rd from gravel to seal. Sealing of the completed pavement will be undertaken by others.

Purpose

The Shire is committed to upgrading the "Carnarvon to Meekatharra Route" from gravel to seal. As part of this commitment, the Shire has received funding to upgrade the specified segments of Dalgety Downs Glenburgh Rd in 2026-27.

Scope

The funded segments to be upgraded are:

• Separable Portion A: Slk 13.90 to 20.47
• Separable Portion B: Slk 11.26 to 13.90
• Separable Portion C: Slk 20.59 to 21.61

The scope of work for the successful tenderer is all works required to upgrade the aforementioned road segments, ready for sealing by others. The scope comprises:

• Identification, assessment and supply of all materials (water, subgrade, basecourse material, cement, rock) required for the works
• Bulk earthworks, subgrade preparation, pavement construction and construction of roadside drainage based on the typical cross section provided in Appendix 4, with finished lines and levels consistent with the adjoining section of road recently upgraded from gravel to seal
• Construction of formation and pavement widths as per the table provided in Appendix 5
• Construction of cement stabilised floodway pavements (200mm compacted thickness) using 2% by mass LH cement as per details provided on Sheet 2 and 3 of the typical section drawings in Appendix 4, in the areas nominated in Appendix 5
• Supply and installation of light class rock protection in the areas nominated in Appendix 5
• Adjustment of existing table drains to suit the new widened road formation
• Renewal of existing offshoot drains and construction of new offshoot drains
• Removal and reinstallation of existing roadside signage
• Supply and installation of additional signage
• Supply and installation of delineators
• Maintenance of all road segments used by the Contractor during the road construction works, up until completion of the sealing work
• Clean up of the site
• Maintenance of the Contractor's constructed pavement for a period of up to two (2) weeks post Practical Completion, whilst waiting for the Shire's spray sealing contractor
• Provision of support to the sealing contractor, arranged and managed by the Shire, in the form of a water cart during the spray sealing work

Contract Terms and Conditions

• Depending on tender pricing, Council may choose to award only one or two of the three separable portions
• The Shire will engage the spray sealing contractor directly, and the sealing contractor will complete the sealing work in a single mobilisation to seal the constructed work
• The successful Contractor is responsible for ensuring the works are completed in accordance with the specifications contained within the tender documentation
• Whilst the Shire aims to complete all work described in the scope, the Shire may need to vary the scope to accommodate the available budget at its absolute discretion, without penalty
