Overview
The Local Government Association of South Australia (SA) is seeking a consultant to undertake a comprehensive review of the LGA's overall governance structure.
Purpose
The review is being undertaken following the adoption of the LGA Strategic Plan 2025–2030 and in response to ongoing feedback from member councils regarding opportunities to ensure LGA's governance arrangements continue to support the organisation's future role, strategic ambition and increasing organisational complexity.
Scope
The scope includes:
- Review of the role of the LGA Board
- Review of the role of the Greater Adelaide Regional Organisation of Councils (GAROC)
- Review of the role of the South Australian Regional Organisation of Councils (SAROC)
- Review of the role of the CEO Advisory Group
- Review of the role of Regional LGAs
- Identification of best practice governance models
- Provision of evidence-based recommendations to strengthen LGA's governance framework and position it to deliver strategic value and leadership to the sector
