Overview
The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, on behalf of the Skills Data Analytics team within Jobs and Skills Australia (JSA), requires data science capability in the form of 2 Lead Data Scientists to support the delivery of increasingly complex and high-profile analytical work.
Purpose
This reflects the growing need to integrate large, diverse structured and unstructured datasets across education, employment and training systems, and to apply advanced techniques, including machine learning and Natural Language Processing, to analyse the data and generate meaningful insights. The focus is on producing robust, reproducible and policy-ready insights that effectively support stakeholders to address priority research questions.
The Role
The role is delivered within secure environments such as the ABS DataLab.
Role Requirements
- Strong analytical judgement to navigate data quality and comparability issues
- Capability in applying advanced techniques, including machine learning and Natural Language Processing, to analyse large, diverse structured and unstructured datasets
