The Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) is inviting suitably qualified and experienced contractors with extensive experience in roofing construction and roof cladding system installation to submit offers for project P263987, the Mon Repos Turtle Centre Roof Upgrade, Principal Contractor.

About

The Mon Repos Turtle Centre was built in 2019 and has a mono pitch roof (approximately 6 degrees) structure with lightweight steel roofing and wall cladding, and timber structural diagrid framing supported by timber columns on shallow concrete foundations. The building is generally open plan with some offices, public gathering spaces, and amenities which include a commercially operated cafe.

Mon Repos Conservation Park is located on the lands of the First Nations Bailai, Gurang, Gooreng Gooreng and Taribelang Bunda Peoples.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Roofing construction works for the Mon Repos Turtle Centre roof upgrade
• Roof cladding system installation for the roof upgrade

Contractor Requirements

Minimum eligibility requirements are as follows:

• QBCC licensing, registration and accreditation
• Copy of Certificate of Currency of required insurance policies

Contract Terms and Conditions

Tenderers are advised that the following may apply to the project:

• Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act 2017 Project Trust Accounts
• Occupational Health and Safety Audits for Queensland Government building projects

Tender Briefing and Site Inspection

This Invitation to Tender has an optional site visit on Thursday, 16 July 2026. Two representatives per offeror are permitted to attend.
