Development describes the function of creating design documents, developing, testing, supporting and maintaining applications and frameworks involved in the software development life cycle.
The role will place you as a Senior Java Developer within the DVA ecosystem, Senior Java Developers realise design, prototypes and testing support, and are responsible for the development of software and technical design. The role is responsible for the definition of software/technical design and realisation.
Senior Developers work under the limited direction of senior staff. They exercise both initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures. Decision-making is substantially dependent on judgement, skills and knowledge. Senior Developers manage and organise their own work in the context of competing priorities, including contributing to business planning, changes in workplace practices and business improvement strategies
The role will involve having or the ability to gain knowledge of Services Australia’s software development lifecycle, tools, services, deployment procedures and cyber security policies as well as industry best practices. You will work closely with Software Architects, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Analysts and Testers with the shared purpose of building simple, helpful, respectful and transparent services for everyday Australians.
