Job details
As part of the Data Platform Operations team, this role will:
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain data ingestion and ETL solutions that support reliable movement of data from source systems into the enterprise data platform.
- Build, test, deploy, and support scalable data pipelines using technologies such as Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, SQL, Python, and related cloud-based tooling.
- Develop and maintain reusable ETL components, code patterns, orchestration processes, and deployment approaches that improve consistency, maintainability, and operational supportability.
- Work with project teams, platform specialists, data engineers, and business stakeholders to analyse requirements, define technical specifications, and deliver fit-for-purpose data integration solutions.
- Support ingestion of structured and semi-structured data into appropriate platform layers, ensuring data is processed in accordance with approved design, security, privacy, and governance requirements.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues affecting ETL jobs, ingestion pipelines, and related platform services, including root cause analysis, remediation planning, and documentation of resolutions.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including solution designs, pipeline specifications, support procedures, operational runbooks, and handover artefacts.
- Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of production-ready operational practices, including scheduling, monitoring, alerting, logging, error handling, and recovery processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure delivered solutions are sustainable, supportable, and aligned with platform standards, enterprise architecture, and long-term business needs.
- Recommend and implement improvements to ETL processes, operational support arrangements, and platform capabilities to improve reliability, efficiency, and service quality.
- Work within agreed delivery approaches and team priorities, interpreting requirements and implementing solutions in alignment with architectural direction, governance controls, and operational standards.
