Tender Description
Tenders are invited to undertake construction for Stage 2 of the Sydney Park Junction project.
Scope:
Transport for NSW is providing improved connectivity around Princes Highway, King Street and Sydney Park Road in collaboration with the City of Sydney and the Inner West Council.
The Sydney Park Junction project will improve connectivity on the Princes Highway King Street corridor around St Peters and Sydney Park. We are creating spaces to make St Peters a more enjoyable place to walk, bike and socialise, and to make it easier to access Sydney Park from the Princes Highway.
Project Objectives
TfNSW’s objectives for the Project are to:
(i) Improving safety, connectivity and efficiency for people walking and bike riding between Princes Highway, King Street and Sydney Park;
(ii) Increasing pedestrian and bike links and crossings;
(iii) Improving landscaping;
(iv) Improving links to Sydney Park’s green space;
(v) Reducing speed limits to 40 kilometres per hour on Princes Highway between Campbell Street and Goodsell Street; and,
(vi) Creating a permanent two-way separated cycleway on the Princes Highway between May Street and King Srreet;
General Site Setup and Management.
i. Site establishment and accommodation for the Principal;
ii. Coordination, supervision, and incidental works as required by the contract;
iii. Preparation of “work-as-executed” drawings;
Traffic and Pedestrian Management
i. Traffic control with approved Traffic Management Plans
ii. Provision for pedestrian and cyclist access
iii. Relocation and installation of Traffic Control Systems
Utility Services
i. Locating, protecting, relocating, and upgrading public utility services
ii. Installation of pits and conduits for TCS
Road and Pavement Works
i. Maintenance of existing roadways
ii. Earthworks, excavation, foundation treatments, and contaminated material management
iii. Flexible pavement sub-base and base layers
iv. Mill and resheet asphalt pavement
v. Concrete footpaths and subbase
vi. Block paving, kerb installation, and new kerbs/gutters
vii. Ancillary paving for footpaths and cycleways
viii. Pavement marking and raised markers
Drainage and Environmental Controls
i. Surface and subsurface drainage
ii. Erosion and sedimentation control (temporary and permanent)
Demolition and Removals
i. Removal and disposal of existing roads, kerbs, gutters, footpaths, stormwater infrastructure, and minor structures
Landscaping and Finishing
i. Revegetation and landscaping of new and disturbed areas
ii. Tree pits and planting
iii. Property access restoration
iv. Installation of road furniture and signage structures
Signposting
vi. Clean-up and site restoration
vii. Opening road to traffic
viii. Relocating bus shelters

Tenders are invited from pre-qualified contractors with Transport for NSW under the National Prequalification Scheme at R3 or higher for Roadworks and financial category F50 or higher to deliver the Sydney Park Junction Stage 2 project. This work consists of installation of new drainage infrastructure, new cycleway medians, widened footways, new raised crossings, new traffic signals, relocating bus shelters, landscaping etc. Additional information on the Project is available on the TfNSW website: https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/projects/current-projects/sydney-park-junction.
A Tenderer Briefing will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, 11 June 2026 on Microsoft Teams. Attendance at the pre-tender meeting is mandatory to submit a conforming Application.
A site inspection will be held at 1.30 pm at 2-6 Princes Hwy Parking Lot. Attendance at the site inspection is not mandatory.
All tenderers must comply with the Transport Statement of Business Ethics through the procurement process and any subsequent contract period.
All tenderers must comply with the NSW Government Procurement Policy Framework, NSW Government Supplier Code of Conduct and New South Wales Industrial Relations Guidelines: Building and Construction Procurement.
This Project is jointly funded by the Australian Government.
It is a requirement for this Project that the successful contractor be accredited under the Australian Government Work Health and Safety Accreditation Scheme (the Scheme) at the time of entering into the contract for ‘building work’ for the Project and must maintain accreditation under the Scheme while the ‘building work’ is being carried out.
