NPWS is seeking to engage a suitable contractor for the construction of a new Visitor Experience and Caves Management Centre building and a new Staff Accommodation building at the Yarrangobilly Caves
Project goals
NPWS is seeking to engage a suitable contractor for the construction of a new Visitor Experience and Caves Management Centre building and a new Staff Accommodation building at the Yarrangobilly Caves Precinct, Kosciuszko National Park.
Scope
The procurement includes the following:
Construction of a Visitor Experience and Caves Management Centre building, comprising:
- Visitor service area, merchandise display area, and viewing deck
- Office space for NPWS staff
- Staff facilities, including a kitchenette and seating
- IT and communications infrastructure
- Staff and visitor toilet facilities
Construction of a new Staff Accommodation Facility, comprising:
- Five bedrooms
- Kitchen, dining, and lounge areas
- Laundry and bathroom facilities
- Boot room
The buildings are to be modern, well-insulated, comfortable, and fit for purpose, compliant with the National Construction Code and Disability Standards, and designed to meet bushfire safety standards.
The buildings will be sustainable, incorporating photovoltaic (PV) solar electricity generation and battery storage systems.
The construction contracts will cover:
- Civil works, including drainage, foundations, vehicle parking, pedestrian walkways, and landscaping
- All building works
- All services, including electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, communications, and security systems
- Internal fit out, including fittings, furnishings, and furniture
- Connection to Precinct services, including electricity, water, and sewer
