Wastewater Treatment Plant Solids Transportation

⁠⁠⁠Overview

Kāpiti Coast District Council is seeking proposals from suitably qualified and experienced suppliers to provide WWTP Solids Transportation services for the Paraparaumu and Ōtaki Wastewater Treatment Plants.

Purpose

The services are required to support safe, compliant and efficient operation of Council's wastewater treatment plants and to help minimise nuisance, public health, environmental and operational risks.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Timely collection, transport and disposal of solid by-products from wastewater treatment operations
• Collection, transport and disposal of screenings, grit, ash, dried sludge/biosolids and dewatered sludge
• Thickened sludge transfer where specified

Contractor Requirements

• Proven experience in solids transportation services
• Suitable plant and equipment
• Strong health and safety systems
• Environmental management capability
• Reliable scheduling and reporting processes
• Ability to respond to short-notice or emergency collections

Contract Terms and Conditions

• Proposed contract term of three years
• Two possible one-year extensions, subject to acceptable performance
