Overview
Pilbara Energy Company Pty Ltd is inviting expressions of interest (EOI) for the Supply of Photovoltaic Modules package, forming part of the Fortescue Decarbonisation Project.
About
Fortescue is committed to decarbonising its Australian iron ore operations in mining, port, rail, non-process infrastructure and mobile fleet in the Pilbara in Western Australia, to achieve real zero terrestrial emissions (Scope 1 and 2) by 2030. Real zero refers to no fossil fuels and, wherever possible, no offsets. Fortescue's decarbonisation plan includes the deployment of 2-3 GW of renewable (wind and solar) energy generation and substantial battery storage. The renewable power generated will be transmitted to Fortescue's electrical network via dedicated connections. The Fortescue Decarbonisation Project is planned to be completed by Quarter 4 CY2030.
Scope
At the time of publishing this invitation to register an interest, the Supply includes:
- Fabrication of solar panels
- Supply of solar panels to Site
Australian Standards apply. The Project, including this package Supply of Photovoltaic Modules, is subject to internal approvals. The procurement process or scope may change at Pilbara Energy Company's election, including to accommodate project budget and time requirements.

How to Apply
Pilbara Energy Company invites expressions of interest (EOI) from capable and experienced contractors and suppliers for this package, Supply of Photovoltaic Modules. Interested parties must register an EOI on the ICN Gateway: fortescuedecarbonisationproject.icn.org.au
EOI registrants are required to provide the following information as part of their EOI:
- An ICN Gateway company profile, current in all material respects
- Completed Preliminary Prequalification Information
Pilbara Energy Company will use the EOIs to improve its understanding of market capability and interest. Suitable EOI registrants may be invited to submit a tender for this Supply of Photovoltaic Modules for one or more projects that form part of the overall Fortescue Decarbonisation Project.
