Overview
The Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) is seeking a Network Architect responsible for defining, governing and evolving the ACIC's enterprise network architecture across on-premises, cloud-connected and hybrid environments. The role provides strategic and technical leadership to ensure network services are secure, scalable, resilient, supportable and aligned with organisational objectives.
About
The role sits within the Network Operations team, which is responsible for:
- Fortinet security platforms and services, including firewalling, privileged access management, sandbox, and associated management platforms
- Enterprise routing and switching technologies
- Network security platforms and services
- Load balancing and application delivery services
- Virtualised network products and services
- Contemporary cloud networking and hybrid connectivity
- LAN, MAN and WAN environments
- Carriage circuits
- Network management, monitoring and observability platforms
- Network automation and orchestration technologies, including Ansible
The Role
The Network Architect translates business, security and technology requirements into network capabilities, designs and implementation roadmaps. The role includes:
- Developing architecture patterns, standards and designs
- Providing technical governance and assurance across projects and operational initiatives
- Leading or contributing to the implementation of complex network capabilities where specialist expertise is required
Role Requirements
- Broad technical expertise across a complex multi-vendor environment
- Strong engagement skills to work effectively with business stakeholders, project teams, security practitioners, architects and operational support teams
- Ability to combine strategic architecture responsibilities with hands-on technical leadership to ensure network solutions are successfully delivered and operationally supportable
