Supply and Delivery of Compostable Bin Liners

The City of Melville is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to supply and deliver compostable kitchen caddy liners.

About

Council resolved in October 2018 to implement the roll out of a three bin Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO) system. Part of the success of the system and low contamination rates is due to the supply of compostable kitchen caddy liners for use by residents. A yearly supply of liners is now required for the 26/27 Financial Year onwards.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Supply of a reliable and continuous quantity of compostable liners to meet the City's operational needs
• Delivery of liners within four weeks of receiving a purchase order
• Consideration of alternative supply or delivery arrangements where they maintain sufficient stock levels and do not affect service continuity

The City currently uses approximately two pallets per month, with each pallet containing 72 boxes, 30 packs per box and 75 bags per pack. Quantities are estimates only and may vary depending on operational requirements.

Contractor Requirements

• Suitably qualified and experienced in the supply of compostable liners
• Maintenance of appropriate quality control where liners are stored locally
• Replacement of liners if defects are identified or if product quality standards decline
• Supplied product must have a clearly specified shelf life

Contract Terms and Conditions

• Initial contract term of three (3) years
• Two (2) optional extension periods of twelve (12) months each, exercisable at the sole discretion of the City
• The City will appoint one contractor for the provision of the services under the contract
