Tender Description

Overview

Hinchinbrook Shire Council invites tenders from suitably qualified and experienced suppliers for the supply and delivery of a waste handling wheel loader for use within Council's Waste and Resource Recovery operations.

Purpose

The procurement forms part of Council's fleet replacement program and is intended to replace Council's existing 2019 JCB 427HT Wheel Loader (Asset No. PA00466). The replacement machine will undertake demanding waste handling activities including the loading, pushing, stockpiling and movement of waste and recyclable materials, together with the formation and maintenance of batters, pads and other operational areas within Council's waste facilities.

Council is seeking a reliable and practical solution that provides a safe and comfortable operating environment, strong waste-handling capability, durability and ongoing serviceability throughout the expected operational life of the machine.

Scope

The scope includes:

  • Supply and delivery of a waste handling wheel loader for Council's Waste and Resource Recovery operations
  • Provision of a robust, fit-for-purpose machine designed or suitably equipped for continuous waste and landfill operations, with an operating weight generally within the 16 to 20 tonne range
  • Incorporation of waste-handling features including solid heavy-duty tyres, enhanced underbody and component guarding, heavy-duty cooling and filtration systems, a pressurised operator cabin with appropriate air filtration, and suitable attachments for Council's operational requirements

Contractor Requirements

  • Ability to demonstrate reliable operation within dusty and debris-intensive waste environments, including protection of hydraulic, electrical, driveline and other vulnerable components from damage
  • Consideration of whole-of-life operational requirements, including warranty, servicing, maintenance, parts availability and access to suitable technical support

Information Requested

Tenderers are required to provide a complete machine that satisfies the technical requirements detailed within the Tender Documents and clearly identify any departures, optional equipment or alternative solutions proposed.
