SH1 Otaika Crossing Signalisation - Physical Works

⁠⁠⁠Overview

The New Zealand Transport Agency is seeking a contractor for a Physical Works contract to replace the existing pedestrian crossing on SH1 Otaika Road with a signalised pedestrian crossing.

Scope

The extent of the works is from RP 266/1281 Otaika Road to RP 266/1425, approximately 144m. The scope includes:

• Replacement of the existing pedestrian crossing and associated blister islands with a signalised crossing facility
• Design, supply and installation of signal poles, including foundations
• Replacement of the existing footpath on both sides
• Installation of a new uninterrupted Power Control (UPS) cabinet, Signal Control Cabinet and associated cabling
• Installation of detector loops, kerbside junction boxes and associated cabling
• Street light enhancement at the crossing
• Installation of Traffic Cam detector and associated cabling
• Installation of warning and directional tactile pedestrian panels
• Resurfacing of the existing state highway, approximately 30m of 50mm machine laid SMA10 asphalt
• Surfacing of the lane approach with red Calcined Bauxite
• Associated line markings and signage

Contractor Requirements

• Only tenderers pre-qualified to level 4C under the terms of the Transport Agency's Prequalification System are eligible to submit a tender

• All tenderer queries are to be submitted through the GETS Questions and Answers facility
• All responses to tender queries or clarifications will be answered by Notice to Tenderer, made available in the GETS addenda
• Tender submissions must be uploaded to the GETS eTender box in a single zip file
• The GETS file upload limit is 50 MB, and the file should be labelled as: Contract Number - Supplier Company Name - File 1 - proposal including price (Schedule of Prices in PDF and Excel format spreadsheet)
• Tender submissions will only be accepted electronically via the GETS eTender box
