Construct and Operate Temporary Worker Accommodation Camp - Biloela

⁠⁠⁠Overview

Banana Shire Council invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitably qualified and experienced organisations for the construction and operation of a temporary worker accommodation camp at 93 Quarrie Road, Biloela, under a long-term lease arrangement.

Purpose

The project has been developed in response to increasing accommodation demand associated with renewable energy developments and other major projects within the Banana Shire region. Council has obtained development approval for a staged workforce accommodation camp with capacity for up to 700 rooms, including associated facilities and supporting infrastructure.

Scope

Council is seeking proposals from parties interested in:

• Constructing the approved workforce accommodation camp
• Operating and managing the facility
• Delivering strong economic outcomes for the Banana Shire community through local procurement and local workforce opportunities

Contract Terms and Conditions

• The successful respondent will enter into a lease arrangement with Council, initially proposed for 10 years with an option to extend for a further 5 years by mutual agreement
