QPWS Fire Protective Clothing

The Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation invites Offers from Suppliers for Invitation to Offer (ITO) No. P253557 for the provision of Queensland Parks and Wildlife Services (QPWS) Fire Protective Clothing.

Scope

The scope of this ITO focusses on the supply of fire Personal Protective Clothing (PPC) across the State including jackets, trousers and shirts produced in accordance with Part B: Contract Details, Attachment 1, QPWS Fire Protective Clothing Specifications, for issue to fire trained staff and required to be worn by personnel when undertaking fire operations including planned burns and wildfire response.

The scope includes:

• Supply of a firefighting trouser
• Supply of a firefighting protective jacket
• Supply of a firefighting shirt
• Manufacture of the jacket and trouser to, and independent certification against, AS/NZS 4824:2021 Protective Clothing for Firefighters, Requirements and Test Methods for Wildland Firefighting
• Independent certification of the garments to AS/NZS 4602.2:2013 High Visibility Safety Garments, Garments for Fire Service Personnel, and classification accordingly
• Manufacture to the details described in the specification documents and to a high quality
• Neat finishing and packaging of the goods in environmentally friendly packaging
• Supply as a standard pair of cargo trousers, jacket and long sleeve shirt (except where otherwise detailed) to Australian sizing specifications for both men and women
• Provision of standard options for different body shapes where possible, including short/stout (S), regular (R) and long/tall (L)
• Provision of Made to Measure garments on occasion, where QPWS requests a garment outside the identified Australian Standard sizing charts
• Supply of goods with a retained formaldehyde level of 100ppm or less when tested in accordance with ISO14184-1
• Bar tacking of all points of strain in same coloured thread
• Safety stitching and over locking of all seams
• Use of appropriate colour flame-retardant thread in all sew ups
• Use of black flame-retardant hook and loop tape where identified
