Overview
Hindmarsh Shire Council is seeking a consultant to undertake the Lower Wimmera Flood Study and associated Planning Scheme Amendment. The study is identified as a priority action under the Wimmera CMA Regional Floodplain Management Strategy and supports the Victorian Government's program to improve flood risk information and planning outcomes.
Purpose
The project will deliver a contemporary flood study that quantifies flood behaviour, risk, and consequences across defined catchments within Hindmarsh Shire, providing defensible mapping, mitigation options, and implementation pathways for land use planning, emergency management, and community preparedness.
Scope
The scope includes:
- Preparation of a flood study quantifying flood behaviour, risk, and consequences across defined catchments within Hindmarsh Shire
- Delivery of defensible flood mapping
- Development of mitigation options
- Development of implementation pathways for land use planning, emergency management, and community preparedness
- Delivery of the study in accordance with the Contract and ARR 2019 guidelines
- Generation of outputs suitable for FloodZoom, planning scheme implementation, and emergency management
- Preparation of a Planning Scheme Amendment
