Overview
Brewarrina Shire Council is seeking consultancy services to prepare a Flood Study and, once completed, a Flood Risk Management Plan for the townships of Brewarrina and Goodooga, in accordance with the NSW Government's Flood Risk Management Manual 2023.
Purpose
An understanding of the flood behaviour of the area is required to identify potential flood mitigation works to reduce the damage from large flood events. The project will also provide essential information to the SES to enable the effective preparation and implementation of local flood plans to deal with flood emergency response.
Scope
The scope includes:
- Preparation of a comprehensive Flood Study for the townships of Brewarrina and Goodooga
- Preparation of a Flood Risk Management Plan for the townships of Brewarrina and Goodooga, following completion of the Flood Study
- Preparation of both documents in accordance with the NSW Government's Flood Risk Management Manual 2023
- Assessment of flood behaviour in the area to identify potential flood mitigation works
- Provision of information to the SES to support the preparation and implementation of local flood plans for flood emergency response
