Patawalonga Lake System (PLS) Operations and Maintenance

⁠⁠⁠Overview

The Department for Environment and Water (DEW) is seeking a suitably qualified contractor to provide integrated operations, management, and maintenance services for the Patawalonga Lake System (PLS) at West Beach, South Australia. The contract will support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of this critical water management asset, ensuring effective flood mitigation, water quality management, and long-term asset performance.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Strategic management of the Patawalonga Lake System
• Day-to-day operations of the Patawalonga Lake System
• Preventative, corrective and predictive maintenance
• Asset monitoring
• Compliance and performance reporting
• Emergency response

The procurement comprises two packages: management and operations, and specialist maintenance services across mechanical, electrical, civil, underwater, ICT/SCADA, and ancillary works.

Contract Terms and Conditions

• The contract is anticipated to commence in June 2027 with an initial three-year term

Industry Briefing Session

• Format: Virtual briefing (Microsoft Teams)

To attend, send an email to the Contact Officer nominated in section 1.3 by 9 am on Thursday 27 August 2026, confirming the name and organisation of attendees. A calendar invite to the online meeting will then be forwarded. Attendance at the briefing is a pre-requisite to submission and consideration of a bid.

Public Authority Site Visit

• Time: 10:00 am

To attend, send an email to the Contact Officer nominated in section 1.3 by 9 am on Wednesday 26 August 2026, confirming the name and organisation of attendees. The Contact Officer will then send a registration form and Site Information Sheet, which must be completed and returned by 9 am on Tuesday 1 September 2026. The registration form includes a declaration that the respondent has reviewed the Site Information Sheet. Attendance at the site visit is a pre-requisite to submission and consideration of a bid.
