Green Waste Removal for Beneficial Reuse

Bundaberg Regional Council requires a supplier capable of managing green waste stockpiles at nominated facilities, either through the removal of bulk green waste for beneficial reuse or the on-site mulching and removal of processed material.

About

Bundaberg Regional Council operates a network of waste and resource recovery facilities that collectively receive approximately 3,500 to 4,500 tonnes of green waste annually. Council is seeking a suitably qualified supplier to remove and beneficially reuse green waste from Council facilities, with an emphasis on achieving high-value resource recovery outcomes and supporting the circular economy, as part of its commitment to sustainable resource recovery and landfill diversion.

Timber materials generated from resource recovery operations at the Bundaberg and Qunaba Waste Management Facilities are currently managed for landfill airspace and compaction benefits, and Council is also seeking opportunities for beneficial reuse of these materials.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Managing green waste stockpiles at nominated Council facilities
• Removal of bulk green waste for beneficial reuse, or on-site mulching and removal of processed material
• Provision of all labour, plant, equipment, transport, approvals and reporting necessary to deliver the services
• Optional shredding of timber materials generated from resource recovery operations at the Bundaberg and Qunaba Waste Management Facilities

Contractor Requirements

• Ability to deliver the services safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant legislative and contractual requirements
• Effective contamination management
• Reliable processing capacity
• Sustainable end markets for recovered materials
• Ability to meet specified stockpile limits and service frequencies
• For suppliers offering the optional timber shredding service, the capability to safely process timber materials and identify appropriate beneficial reuse pathways where practicable
