The AEC is seeking to engage a Program Architect (Assurance) to support the FAD Reform Program Delivery team.

Purpose of the role

The Funding and Disclosure Reform Program (the FAD Program) was established to enable the AEC to implement and administer recent legislative amendments to the Commonwealth Funding and Disclosure Scheme as set out in the Commonwealth Electoral Act to increase transparency and accountability in Australia’s electoral system.

The Program Architect (Assurance) will be responsible for the governance and assurance of technology solutions across the FAD Reform program work packages ensuring architectural alignment of design and implementation to business priorities, guardrails and design standards. This role helps to define and shape what architectural elements and artefacts are needed to ensure that the outcomes for the program can be implemented in a compliant and effective manner.

This role works closely with program leadership, business stakeholders, product owners, program & solution architects and technology vendors to help shape and inform solution direction, facilitate design decisions and technology options so they align with the AEC strategic objectives and program solution roadmap. A key part of the role will be the ability to identify, shape and describe opportunities for innovation in technology delivery.

The role is expected to have a strong understanding of modern business systems in government, and a background in leading and governing solution architecture in large and complex programs is essential. The role will have a responsibility to engage and communicate widely across key stakeholder groups as required, including business SME, ICT, security, vendors and Federal Government departments managing whole-of-government initiatives. As such, strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential.

The role will report to the Director, Delivery Assurance and Build Quality and will be required to integrate with a cross-functional program team.
