Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠1. Background

Footscray High School is a multi-campus secondary school in the South Western Victoria Region of the Department of Education which services a large residential area and surrounding community of inner northern metropolitan Melbourne approximately 7 km from the Melbourne CBD. The school has a current enrolment of 1330 students in year 7 through to year 12. It is expected that enrolment will increase to a maximum of 1800 students, 450 at each junior campus and 900 at the senior campus over the ensuing years.

The student population, assumed to be represented by a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds, is likely to be characterised by a reasonable percentage of families with both parents working and high socio-economic status. 

The school requires a supplier for school books as per the following list. The school reserves the right to ask the shortlisted supplier to provide samples of the offered items (free of charge) to assist in the evaluation process. 

2. Scope of EOI

  • Length of Service: The arrangement period will be for three (3) years commencing from the date specified in the letter of acceptance. with two (2) optional extension periods of one (1) year each, exercisable at the School’s discretion.
  • The School Council will conduct a formal performance review at the end of each year of the arrangement. The School reserves the right to terminate the arrangement with 90 days written notice if the Supplier fails to meet the service standards specified in this EOI or the resulting Agreement.
  • The school is not bound to accept the lowest submitted rates.
  • The school does not guarantee the volume of the purchase under this arrangement.
  • The books will be purchased directly from the Supplier by families of students of the school which the School Council represents.
  • Confidentiality and privacy: The Supplier and its employees, agents and contractors must keep confidential and secure any Confidential Information and must not disclose or otherwise make available any Confidential Information to any other person.
  • Stock: The Supplier should maintain a reasonable stock level of the Goods which is adequate to meet the demand of the estimated number of students provided by the School when organising Booklists.

The Bidder acknowledges and agrees that the School Council is not liable to the Service Provider for payment of the Unit Price for the Goods supplied by the Service Provider at its Retail Premises. The Goods can be purchased directly from the Service Provider by families of students of the school which the School Council represents.

This arrangement does not create an exclusive relationship with the preferred service provider.
