Construction of Smithfield Library Public Amenity Upgrade

⁠⁠⁠Cairns Regional Council (the Principal) is seeking services for suitably qualified and experienced Contractors for Contract 3097 as part of the delivery of the Smithfield Library Public Amenity Upgrade.

The Smithfield Library public toilet amenities have been audited and confirmed to be non-compliant with the Accessibility Standards and AS1428.1-2021. The amenities were constructed as part of the original Library facilities in 1988 and the objective of this project is to enhance user experience through improving fixtures and finishes. The existing amenities is located outside the Library entrance and can be refurbished without affecting Library operations. Site Management will require daily monitoring of fencing, hoarding and signage to ensure the public are safely diverted around the Contract works. Council have secured and arranged hire of two public toilets for the duration and the tenderer is to establish the temporary facilities in the public carpark.

Enquiries: Tender enquiries, questions or clarifications should be directed via the online forum. Cairns Regional Council officers are unable to respond to verbal enquiries in relation to the tender.

The forum will close three days prior to the closing time and date. Please ensure that all questions, information requests and clarifications are posted prior to this time.

Lodgement of Submissions: Completed responses must be lodged by uploading the submission to Tendering portal, using the response forms within the tender documentation.

We strongly recommend that you begin uploading your tender submission files at least two (2) hours BEFORE the tender closing time.

Closing Date and Time: The tender closes at the time indicated in the tendering portal as the closing date. Submissions must be fully received by this time. Late, verbal or emailed tenders may not be accepted and will be subject to Councils sole discretion. Submissions will not be opened publicly. The lowest or any tender may not necessarily be accepted.

Council reserve the right to change the specifications prior to making a decision on the submissions received in response to this invitation.

Council may invite all Respondents to change their submission to take into account any change in the tender specifications.

Tenders are to remain valid for a period of 120 days from the Closing Time.
