Shared Micromobility Hire and Ride Services - E-Bikes

⁠⁠⁠The City of Hobart is requesting tenders from operators who can provide E-Bike hire and ride services. These should be available to a wide range of users to use for a period on a fee-for-service basis. The City will issue a permit (the Permit) to a single operator to operate within an agreed region of the Hobart Local Government Area. Operators must submit a device that is a compliant E-Bike as defined by the Tasmanian Road Rules 2019. The Permitted Area will be determined in consultation with the successful Tenderer.

The Operator must be prepared to operate its business in accordance with the conditions of the Permit determined by the Council and any legislative requirements or guidelines that apply from time to time. A draft indicative form of the Permit Conditions will be issued next week as a Notice of Addendum to this Request for Tenders. The Permit Conditions will also be subject to final legal review on behalf of Council prior to the Permit being issued.
