Zero Emission School Bus lease

⁠⁠⁠The Victorian Government has set a target of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2045, as a part of this decarbonising public transport will be important to meeting this goal. DTP is seeking responses to this RFT for the lease of ZEB buses for trials in regional Victoria as a part of the regional school bus services .

In conducting and holding this trial, DTP hopes to complete certain outcomes. These are focused on the operational of ZEBs in regional Victoria and include:

•      Increasing the awareness and firsthand bus operator experience of ZEBs
•      Develop an understanding of the opportunities and challenges around adopting and using ZEBs
•      Increase bus industry knowledge and understanding of decarbonisation options, considerations and challenges
•      Strengthen government-industry collaboration on bus decarbonisation
•      Develop an evidence base for broader policy settings (ZEB targets, charging needs, etc).
•      Increase the understanding of infrastructure utilisation and planning.
