Edgar Street Corridor Study

⁠⁠⁠Council is seeking Quotations from suitably qualified, experienced Consultants to conduct a traffic study resulting in traffic management solutions along the Edgar Street (regional road)

Project goals

Council is seeking Quotations from suitably qualified and experienced Consultants to conduct a traffic study resulting in traffic management solutions that improve safety and efficiency along the Edgar Street (regional road) north-south corridor between The Hume Highway and Milperra Road. Of particular interest will be the intersection of Eldridge Road at Edgar Street, Condell Park. While this intersection is a main focus, it is paramount that a holistic approach of the surrounding road networks is undertaken to minimise negative impacts on the surrounding road network. 

Scope

(a) A detailed assessment of the following existing and future intersection performances, intersection counts are to be undertaken during 7am-9am and 3:30pm-5:30pm on a weekday outside of school holidays. The intersections that will require assessment are below: 

• Eldridge Road at Edgar Street
• Edgar Street at Harris Street
• Edgar Street at Ilma Street
• Edgar Street at Milperra Road
• Edgar Street at Yanderra Street
• Edgar Street at Winifred Street
• Edgar Street at Birdsall Avenue
• Edgar Street at Railway Parade
• Edgar Street at Augusta Street
• Edgar Street at Townsend Street
• Edgar Street at Lancelot Street
• Edgar Street at Norman Street
• Edgar Street at Marion Street
• Edgar Street at Saurine Street 
• Edgar Street at Waruda Street
• Edgar Street at Gould Street
• Edgar Street at Glassop Street
• Edgar Street at Elizabeth Crescent; and
• Edgar Street at Hume Highway. 

 (b) Network modelling of traffic flow and queuing (for existing and future traffic) on all the roads and surrounding network to the intersection of Eldridge Road at Edgar Street as bounded by the aforementioned intersections
