CRICOS Renewal External Auditor

⁠⁠⁠The Australian National University (ANU/the University) is preparing to renew its registration on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS), which is due to expire on 30 November 2027.

Under Standard 11.4 of the National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students 2018, ANU must undertake an independent external audit within the 18-month period prior to renewing its CRICOS registration. The audit is intended to provide objective assurance on the University's compliance with the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 and the National Code 2018, identify gaps, risks and opportunities for improvement, and support the University's broader CRICOS Renewal Project and submission preparation.

ANU intends the engagement to commence in Q3 2026 so that the audit findings, The University's response to findings, and subsequent renewal preparation can be completed in sufficient time ahead of The University's CRICOS renewal application to TEQSA (due by 1 September 2027).

The successful supplier will be expected to undertake an independent external compliance audit of select ANU accredited coursework and higher degree by research programs, and any approved non-Australian Qualification Framework courses, that are open to international students and registered with CRICOS. The engagement will include document and evidence review, stakeholder consultation, reporting, and reasonable post-report clarification and closeout support during the agreed contract period.
