Provision of Waste Services

⁠⁠⁠The District Council of Grant (the Council) invites tenders from suitably qualified Tenderers for the provision of:

•  Component 1) Mobile Garbage Bin Kerbside Collection Service, and/or
•  Component 2) Management of Waste Transfer Stations including supply and emptying of bins and skips.

Tenderers may respond to one or both components of the Service.

If tendering for component 1 and component 2, Tenderers are required within Schedule 15 to detail any operational and financial benefits to the Council in award of both components.

 Background

1. The District Council of Grant is located in the Limestone Coast region of South Australia and the southernmost council in the state. The Council covers an area of 1,904km2 and serves a population of 8,600, with its economy relying on a range of industries, including agriculture, fishing, forestry and tourism.

 Core to delivery of the Council’s waste management commitment to the region is provision of its kerbside collection service including general waste and recycling, and operation of its four (4) waste transfer stations.

2. Current contracts for delivery of the kerbside collection service, and management/delivery of its waste transfer stations are due to expire in 2026 and therefore Council is seeking to enter into contract(s) for continuation of the services, following a formal request for tender market approach.

3. The Services as defines in the scope have been spilt into two (2) components, tenderers may respond to each or both components.

4. The term of the contract shall be for an initial term of 4 years, with right of extension of a further 3 years based to be exercised at Council’s discretion.

 The Council will enter into an Agreement for these Services with the successful Tenderer(s).
