Tender Description

Albury City Council invites suitably qualified Tenderers to submit a Tender for the Raw Water Feed Line Renewal for Council upon the conditions detailed in the RFT.

BACKGROUND

The existing raw water feed line has reached the end of its service life after prolonged operation. It recently experienced a significant leak during pump testing associated with nearby works. As this pipeline is the main raw water supply to Plant A, its reliability is critical to maintaining continuous drinking water production for Albury. Replacing the deteriorated section will prevent fails, minimise service interruptions, and safeguard water supply continuity. The existing pipe which is in need of replacement consists of 750mm diameter steel pipe, a 90 degree bend encased in a thrust block and a 500mm x750mm diameter MS taper connecting into the low lift pumps.

Summary of General Requirements;

The works consist of the following:

a. The works consist of excavating the site and appropriate surroundings, followed by the removal of the existing thrust block and old pipework, and demolition of the southern wall of the pit. The Contractor shall then fabricate and install the new pipework and thrust block, reinstate the southern wall, and undertake pressure testing of the pipework to confirm compliance. Upon successful testing, the excavated area shall be backfilled and compacted, with final reinstatement of the footpath and retaining wall to complete the works.

b. The specific requirements for each element of the Works (i.e., Preliminaries, Utility Service Location, Protection & Relocation(s) etc.) are outlined later in this section of document. Notwithstanding, this document shall not limit the scope of the Works described in other Contract Documents, and is to be utilised as a supplement;

c. Specifically, the Contractor shall allow to provide all materials, labour, plant, cranage, equipment, access equipment, tools, supervision, overheads, administration, insurances, taxes, wages, accommodation, transport,allowances, site allowances, consumables, testing services and any other incidental cost whatsoever necessary to carry out the proposed reconstruction in compliance with the contract documentation;

d. All works shall be carried out between April 1st 2026 – October 31st 2026. Works shall not take longer than 4 weeks.
