The Illawarra Shoalhaven Joint Organisation (ISJO) is seeking specialist consultancy services to deliver a region-wide Critical Infrastructure Assessment of the Illawarra Shoalhaven road network, with a specific focus on landslide susceptibility and its impact on network functionality.
The project will use a desktop-based, GIS-driven methodology aligned with nationally recognised Australian Geomechanics Society (AGS) guidelines to develop a consistent landslide susceptibility model across the Illawarra Shoalhaven region. This susceptibility mapping will be overlaid with local and regional road networks to identify road corridors exposed to moderate to very high landslide risk. Exposed road segments will then be assessed and prioritised based on their functional importance, including emergency and evacuation access, freight and regional connectivity, community access, detour availability and isolation risk.
The project will deliver spatial datasets, mapping products, a prioritisation framework and a technical report that provide ISJO and member councils with a shared, evidence-based foundation for infrastructure investment prioritisation, asset management planning, funding advocacy, and longer-term disaster resilience and climate adaptation decision-making.
