Council is seeking quotations from suitably experienced and qualified Service Providers to accept, and process commingled recyclable material generated from domestic and commercial self-haul activities at the Ballina Resource Recovery Centre for a 5-year period with 2 x 1-year options to extend (solely at Council’s discretion).
Background information / Compatibility requirements
Council receives approximately 200 tonnes per annum of commingled recyclables material generated from domestic and commercial self haul activities at the Ballina Resource Recovery Centre requiring processing at a licensed Material Recovery Facility (MRF).
Under the proposed service arrangement, and where cost effective, Council intends to transport commingled recyclables in 30 metre hook lift bins to the successful Service Provider’s licensed material recovery facility for processing. Where the distance to the material recovery facility is not considered cost effective for Council vehicles, the commingled recyclables will instead be transported and delivered by a third party contractor using 60 metre hook lift bins or 100 metre walking floor vehicles.
