Purchase and Removal of Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals

⁠⁠⁠Council is seeking the services of an experienced and qualified service provider that has demonstrated expertise in delivering high quality, functional transport and logistic services to undertake the following services.

Council operates two (2) major waste facilities and nine (5) regional facilities, as per Attachment 1 – Collection Place. Each of these Collection Places accepts Ferrous Metals and Non-ferrous Metals from members of the public.

 MATERIAL STORAGE AND COMPOSITION

Ferrous Metals

Bulk Ferrous Metal is stockpiled on a hardstand and will require loading for transport off-site. The Purchaser will be required to provide loading and transport plant and equipment to service stockpiles. Bulk Ferrous Metals include Items such as fridges (de-gassed), empty gas bottles, car parts, furniture, building material etc.

The approximate annual tonnage of Ferrous Metal collected in 2025 was:

• Major Facilities (Collection Place) – Approximately 3472t
• Minor Facilities (Collection Place) – Approximately 163t

NOTE: All volumes quoted are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

 Non-Ferrous Metals

Non-ferrous Metals are to be collected from Collection Place - Nikenbah Waste Transfer Station only and will be disassembled and sorted into Items (by Authorised Contractor/Council) prior to collection under this Contract.
