Tender Description
Call for Expressions of Interest (EOIs): Creative Streets 2026.
The Creative Streets Festival returns in 2026 with a program that brings art, performance, music, light, ideas, community and surprise into the heart of Armidale.
If you’ve got a creative idea, this is your chance to pitch it — whether you want to turn The Levels car park into a roller disco for opening night, you’ve got an idea for a bold new public sculpture, or you want to teach the town to tango we want to hear about it.
If needed, you can apply for funding to support your idea via the Microgrant and Creative Placemaking Grant EOI Forms below.
Please note food vendor applications are not yet open.
Key Dates:
EOIs close: 11:59 PM, Friday, 15 May 2026.
Successful EOI’s notified: 01 June 2026.
Creative Streets Opening Night: Saturday, 17 October 2026, 3:00 PM-9:00 PM.
Creative Streets Festival: Saturday, 17 October to Sunday, 08 November 2026.
Funding Streams
We are seeking EOIs across two grant streams:
1. Microgrants ($200–$2,000): suitable for small-scale activations, performances, workshops, or prototype ideas.
2. Creative Placemaking Grants (up to $10,000): suitable for larger-scale installations, permanent sculptures, performance production or programs. These applications require a more detailed delivery plan and budget along with your relevant experience.
Specific Artist Call-Outs
The Creative Street's Swing
The Creative Streets swing chair from 2025 is back and available for a new local artist or group to re‑theme for 2026.
- Up to $1,000 can be applied for (via the microgrant EOI form) to support materials.
- The chair must remain safe and functional for sitting (no sharp or hazardous elements).
- Council will deliver the chair to the successful applicant and collect it prior to Opening Night for installation.
Creative Streets Festival 2026 Artwork
To be considered, submit a Microgrant EOI and include:
- A short concept description (what you propose and how it connects to the theme).
- Examples of relevant previous work (links/images).
If successful, you will be commissioned to provide:
- A central artwork / illustration direction (original work).
- A set of supporting artwork elements that can be used across the campaign: these might be small illustrations or icons taken from your central artwork.
- The Creative Streets Festival logo already exists and will be used as-is.
Delivery date: 15 July 2026 (final artwork elements provided in digital format).
How to Apply
Complete the appropriate EOI form:
- Microgrant EOI form (for $200–$2,000 requests).
- Larger grant EOI form (for up to $10,000 requests).
EOIs must be received by 11:59 PM, Friday, 08 May 2026.
We will respond to applicants by 01 June 2026. Where appropriate, we may contact applicants to workshop specific proposals.

Food vendor EOIs for Opening Night are not currently open. Food vendors will be invited to express interest at a later date.
