Fire Equipment Servicing

⁠⁠⁠BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Mackay Regional Council services a population of approximately 128,381 residents, covering an area of 7,622km², five times the size of Brisbane City Council and double the size of Townsville Council areas. Mackay City is Queensland’s fourth largest regional city.

Council owns and maintains a diverse range of facilities including libraries, galleries, museums, sporting precincts and aquatic facilities. There are approximately 150 facilities (sites) across the region. There are several sites across the region that have historical significance and are recognised on the Queensland Heritage Register. Sites include the Memorial Swim Centre, Town Hall, Greenmount Homestead and the Pioneer Shire Building. Only work approved by the Principal shall be completed on these sites. In providing the Services, the Supplier must comply with guidelines provided by the Principal and the Queensland Heritage Act.

The Principal requires suitable Suppliers to be appointed to a register of pre-qualified suppliers (Register) for Fire Services Equipment to provide routine servicing and maintenance of fire safety installations to ensure the ongoing safe occupancy and compliance of Council buildings across the Principal’s operational facilities, infrastructures and assets. All maintenance will need to meet the requirements as specified in Building Fire Safety Regulations, AS1851:2012, AS2293.2:2019 and QDCMP6.1.

The Principal’s facilities, infrastructure and assets at various locations in the Mackay region that relate to the supply of the Services include, but are not limited to:

(a) Facilities & Open Spaces Assets

(b) Water Network services include sewer distribution networks and Sewer Treatment Plants (STP)

(c) Water Services sites including water distribution networks and Water Treatment Plants (WTP)

(d) Water Recycling Facilities (WRF)

(e) Vehicles and mobile equipment (various locations)

(f) Waste and Recycling Facilities
