Tender Description
The Perth Zoo requires a Panel of suitably experienced organizations to design, supply, install, operate, maintain and remove large-scale outdoor exhibitions at Perth Zoo.
It is expected that there will be (approximately) at least one outdoor exhibition per year.
The provision of Services will be subject to the Customer’s program requirements and may vary or be subject to change during the Term. While this Request relates primarily to outdoor exhibitions, the Customer reserves the right, at any time during the Term, to add new Service types or reduce the scope of existing Services.
Any estimates included in this Request are provided for information purposes only. While such information has been prepared in good faith based on data available at the time of release, the Customer does not warrant the accuracy or completeness of this information.
During the Contract Term, the Customer will place Orders with the Contractor(s) in line with the Buying Rules in Schedule 6, in a manner that represents the best value for money for the Customer and its operational needs and taking into consideration the unique requirements of each individual exhibition.
The Customer does not bind itself to Order any or all Services listed under this Contract. The Customer will not be liable for any loss which may be incurred by the Contractor as a result of forward provisioning of Services or commencement of Services in anticipation of Orders being placed where such Orders do not eventuate.
Scope:
- All materials proposed by the Respondent must be suitable for outdoor installation and capable of withstanding UV exposure and prevailing weather conditions without degradation to performance or appearance.
- All materials used in outdoor exhibitions must be durable and corrosion‑resistant, and capable of withstanding prolonged exposure to weather, moisture, and atmospheric conditions without degradation.
- Materials must be designed, manufactured, and installed to ensure public safety, including the absence of toxic, sharp, brittle or breakable materials, exposed moving parts, pinch points, trip hazards, or sudden mechanical movements that may pose a risk to visitors, staff or animals.
- Exhibition equipment or installation methods used on the site must not generate loud, sudden, or unpredictable noises (including alarms, compressed air releases, pyrotechnics, sudden mechanical movements or sound effects).
- Processes or activities must not cause prolonged or unreasonable disruption to visitor pathways, animal habitats, or daily zoo operations.
- All materials must remain stable under expected environmental conditions. Where necessary, materials must be appropriately anchored or secured to ensure structural stability and public safety.
- All electrical equipment, materials, cabling, connections, and installation works must comply with all relevant national electrical standards, codes, and applicable legislation.
- The Respondent should provide wattage and amperage details for all proposed electrical elements to support assessment of electrical load capacity and compliance.
- The Respondent should specify the installation quantities for all elements of the proposed concept.
- The Respondent should detail capability to deliver and complete installation in accordance with the proposed schedule, including identification of constraints, dependencies, and risks.
- The Respondent should provide detailed product and installation dimensions (height, width, depth, footprint where applicable) for all proposed exhibit items.
- Where practicable, the Respondent should avoid the use of single‑use plastics or non‑recyclable materials and propose sustainable alternatives.
- The Respondent may indicate how, where practicable, electrical components are selected and rated to minimise overall energy consumption.
