Hunter Water Data Loggers

⁠⁠⁠Hunter Water has been deploying water loggers to monitor water usage for our Business Customers. This data provides benefits including: leak detection, revenue assurance (when meters stop working), irregular usage detection, data feed for TaKaDu, increased understanding of customer demands (peak, average etc) for network operations, diurnal flow data to assist forecasting for Hunter Water planners, and better visibility of customer water use for engagement in preparing WEMPs (Water Efficiency Management Plans) and controlling exemptions (irrigation use).

The existing contract will expire in June 2026, Hunter Water is seeking a company to provide supply, install and manage the loggers for 354 meters.

The objectives of the Provision Water Loggers for Business Customers project are summarised on the table below:

• This request for proposal is for supply end to end solution comprising (logger supply + logger install + network connectivity + SaaS + logger maintenance) for period of 5 years (3+1+1) for 354 meters. Hunter Water expect that some customers may have more multiple meters on their site and this will be managed by the vendor, but Hunter Water prefers a single logger with multiple ports.
• Loggers could be owned by Vendor or Hunter Water. When the loggers are owned by Hunter Water, Hunter Water pays for the upfront fees plus some ongoing operational fees. If the loggers are owned by the Vendor, theres no upfront fee, Hunter Water pays ongoing operational fees only.
• Hunter Water may choose to provide our own SIM cards. If Vendor prefers to provide their owns SIM cards, please refer to returnable Schedule 4 for more detailed requirement.
• The Vendor shall provide a unit rate for additional loggers to accommodate any future increases in Hunter Waters deployment requirements
