Fire Prevention - Vegetation & Hazard Removal

⁠⁠⁠Yarriambiack Shire Council is seeking the services of a suitably experienced Contractor to supply and operate their own equipment to assist in the removal of identified fire hazards across the municipality on private land in both urban and rural areas where land-owners fail to comply with a Fire Prevention Notice issued by Council and where Council requires a Contractor to complete fire clearance works.

The Contractor must be available to complete fire hazard removal works from late October until early March.

Works will include but not be limited to:

• Slashing, mowing, mulching, brush cutting and trimming of grass and weeds on private property;
• Removal of hazards including trees, weeds, limbs, branches, timber, rubbish

The period of work under this contract is in the lead up to and during the Declared Fire Danger Period as determined by the Country Fire Authority (CFA); with the works under this contract to be undertaken generally late October, November and December with some follow-up work required after Christmas through until March, dependent on weather conditions. Noting the bulk of the work is completed by the end of December.

The Contractor must undertake and complete the Fire Clearance Works for a Property within seven (7) days of a written Works Request being issued by Council.

The services to be provided under this contract are located in various townships in the municipality, from Tempy in the north to Lubeck in the south.

The contract will be awarded for an initial three year term with a further two x one year options (up to a maximum term of five years).
