Sewer Pump Station 33 Hydrogeological Investigation

⁠⁠⁠Albury City Council invites suitably qualified and experienced organisations to submit a quote for Council upon the conditions.

Scope:

AlburyCity is proposing an upgrade to Sewer Pump Station 33 in South Albury. During the planning phase, it has been identified that site ground conditions may present challenges for works requiring significant excavation. These conditions include soil characteristics, groundwater contamination, groundwater depth and recharge rates.

Previous water sampling in the area has indicated the groundwater is not suitable to be released into the stormwater system. Contractor is to test the groundwater using NATA (or equivalent) laboratory, prior to releasing into the stormwater network to ensure compliance with EPA and legislative requirements. 

AlburyCity seeks to engage a suitably qualified contractor to undertake site investigations at two nominated locations to assess groundwater conditions to a depth of 8 meters below existing ground level and quantify associated risks.

The Contractor shall undertake all necessary investigations, testing and reporting including, but not limited to:

• Site mobilisation and demobilisation

• Hydrogeological investigation including planning and supervision

• Geotechnical investigation including planning and supervision

• Drilling of boreholes to the nominated depth or auger refusal

• Installation and development of groundwater monitoring bores

• Soil sampling and assessment of contamination levels

• Groundwater sampling and assessment of contamination levels

• Laboratory testing by a NATA accredited laboratory

• Service locating and potholing including non-destructive

• Environmental management and site controls

• Management and disposal of contaminated spoil (provisional)

• Management and disposal of groundwater (provisional)

• Additional drilling if required

• Rock coring if required

A Site inspection has been scheduled for prospective Vendors.

This will begin at 275 Macauley St, Albury at 10:00am on 29th of April.

Interested Vendors are required to travel by their own means to the Site.

If requested by prospective Vendors, an alternative date for a Site inspection may be made available.
