Morawa Early Childhood Education & Family Centre

⁠⁠⁠The Shire is constructing the Morawa Early Child Education and Family Centre, located on Shire-owned land at a site well located adjacent to the local Kindergarten, Youth Centre and District High School. The Centre will be a multipurpose family hub, a single storey building featuring an indoor play area, quiet area, kitchen, laundry, toilets and change facilities, meeting rooms, wellness room, staff offices and storage. It will also have outdoor play areas, including gardens, playgrounds and paths.

The Centre will be a multipurpose venue with two main components. The first is a formal childcare service providing long day care with after school care. The second is a family centre with an informal indoor space where training can be undertaken and families can drop in, children can play, and parents can meet and socialise.

In addition, the wellness room and meeting rooms will provide fit-for-purpose spaces for childrens and family allied health services such as speech pathology, OT and child psychology, space for parenting groups and programs, family focused activities and a hub for a range of other community interest groups.

The Centre will also provide the opportunity for family support services such as Ngala to engage with parents in a casual, less-intimidating setting where they feel safe and comfortable.
