Hobsons Bay City Council seeks to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced heritage consultant to provide specialist heritage advice to support statutory planning functions.
The consultant will act as Council’s heritage advisor for planning permit applications affected by heritage controls, including providing written referral responses, attending weekly drop-in meetings with Council’s Statutory Planning Team, undertaking site inspections and applicant meetings as required, contributing to staff capability building, and providing heritage advice on Council projects as needed.
The consultant may also be required to prepare expert witness evidence and appear at VCAT hearings, including review of other expert evidence. The engagement is intended to deliver high-quality, consistent, practical heritage advice aligned with best-practice heritage conservation and planning
