Commercial Advisory Services for Hunter Transmission Project

⁠⁠⁠EnergyCo seeks one qualified provider with an experienced commercial team to manage commercial and regulatory functions for the Hunter Transmission Project during delivery.

Project goals

The NSW Government has developed the NSW Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap (the Roadmap) to transition NSW to a cleaner future and ensure this new supply of electricity can be reliably distributed to consumers.

To maintain the energy supply to the Hunter, Sydney and Illawarra regions, 500 kilovolt (kV) transmission connections are required between Eraring Power Station and Bayswater Power Station in Liddell in the Upper Hunter Valley.

The HTP is both a critical State significant infrastructure (CSSI) project and a Priority Network Infrastructure Project (PNIP). As the remaining coal-fired power stations close, the HTP is critical for energy security in New South Wales (NSW).

Scope

EnergyCo seeks to engage a single qualified Service Provider to deliver an experienced Commercial team that will support the Hunter Transmission Project during the delivery phase. The Commercial team will provide specialist commercial, regulatory, financial and contract management capability to ensure strong oversight of the project’s commercial and regulatory functions, including management of interfaces with the Network Operator and Third Parties.

The Service Provider will supply a team of six professional roles forming a core component of EnergyCo’s delivery‑phase Commercial function. These resources will maintain oversight of commercial, legal and regulatory activities, contribute to project governance, and help ensure effective delivery of key milestones. They will operate as part of an integrated project team, working closely with EnergyCo staff and stakeholders to support timely decision‑making, manage risks and maintain continuity across commercial activities.
