Road Base Crushing

⁠⁠⁠Purpose

Council proposes to invite tenders for road base crushing services, for the twelve-month period: 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027. This Invitation includes the Conditions of Tendering in Section 1, Conditions of Contract in Section 2, Specifications in Section 3 and the Tender Submission documents in Section 4. The form of agreement is that of a ‘standing offer’ and it does not place any contractual obligation on council to hire or engage contractors. The application is merely a statement made by a prospective contractor that they are willing to supply specified services in accordance with the terms and conditions contained herein.

Specifications

General

The gravel pits will be ripped and stockpiled by the contractor and the specification calls for winning, loading, crushing and stockpiling of the crushed road base with a maximum stone size of 26mm. Nominated quantity is 40,000 tonne rock at various locations (diagrams showing stockpile locations at the site will be provided). Expected minimum quantity at any one location is 10,000 tonne. Quantities may be adjusted upward upon final assessment of council’s works program.
