Current opportunity: General practice after hours flu season grants
Tender ID: 609279
Tender Details
Tender Description
MPHN is inviting general practices and Aboriginal Medical Services across the Murrumbidgee region to submit an Expression of Interest for the After Hours Flu Season Grants.
This short-term funding opportunity is designed to help practices respond to increased demand during the lead-up to winter by extending access to GP services in the after hours period across May and June 2026.
The aim is to support patients to access timely care in the community and help reduce non-urgent presentations to hospital emergency departments. Under this opportunity, successful practices can receive funding to either introduce new after hours services or extend existing after hours availability.
Practices may deliver up to five additional after hours general practice hours per week, with after hours defined as weekdays from 6.00pm to 8.00am, after 12.00pm on Saturdays, and all day on Sundays and public holidays.
This is a competitive EOI process, and MPHN is seeking a limited number of practices from across the region to help ensure a strong geographic spread and better access to care in under-serviced areas.
To apply, practices will need to outline their current opening hours, proposed additional after hours sessions, and explain how their proposed hours have been determined and how they will benefit local patients and communities.
Practices are also required to promote their increased after hours availability to their community.

Applications close at 5.00pm on Tuesday 7 April 2026.
