Tender Description

This Tender is invited by the Issuer.

The Bureau has been engaged by the Queensland Reconstruction Authority to deliver the next stage in an upgraded Southeast Queensland Flood Forecast and Warning System (SEQ FFWS). This position will manage the project to ensure on time delivery of a production ready system that meets contract requirements and stakeholder needs.

 The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of project delivery, preferably in hydraulic / hydrologic modelling, flood risk management and/or flood forecasting. They will possess outstanding customer, stakeholder and partner engagement and collaboration skills, a solution-oriented mindset.

Reporting to the General Manager FWIN, the Project Manager will be responsible for:

  • Implementing the Project Plan activities to ensure the project is on track to deliver the outcomes on time, and on budget.
  • Establishing key project artefacts, including budget, schedule and project forecasting tools.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the flood forecast and warning system efficiently and effectively meets the widest range of institutional needs. This will require extensive engagement across Bureau teams and external agencies.
  • Ensuring regular reporting that identifies and risks early enough to maintain the maximum number of options to address them.

This position would suit an applicant with a proven track record in successful project management. You will demonstrate experience as an effective leader and communicator with the ability to liaise broadly across the Bureau and our partners to ensure the successful delivery of this project. You will be expected to deliver high quality results and work under limited supervision while maintaining close collaboration with the General Manager FWIN.

You will have strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills and be able to prioritise within tight deadlines. The successful candidate will be highly proactive and flexible.
