FY 2024-25 Disaster Recovery Works- Package 8 – Opalton Road

⁠⁠⁠As a result of two major weather events in far north Queensland, Winton Shire Council (WSC) has endured significant flood damage across the local road network. These events were both Tropical Cyclone Kirrily during January and February 2024, and the North and Far North Tropical Low in January 2025.

WSC has secured Disaster Recovery Funding via the Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA) which will allow the commencement of works to restore the local road network.

The project is located on Opalton Road, Opalton and is approximately 105km in total length. The project commences at chainage 115m and finishes at chainage 105,221m. (The red line above depicts the site).

The Scope of works includes the following scopes;

• Scope of Works Part A - Road Reconstruction works
• Scope of Works Part B - Material extraction from local borrow pits

WSC invites tenderers to price all or part of the works included in this package. The Tenderer is invited to price either both Scopes - (Part A and Part B) or alternatively, Part A or Part B (not the whole of the works). If the Tenderer elects to price only one part, this will not be considered a ‘non-conforming bid’.
