AGRN 1242 Fire Event Emergency Works Safety Signage

Strathbogie Shire Council is seeking submissions from suitably qualified Contractors to to replace burnt signage and guidepost including signage posts that were damaged or destroyed during the January 2026 Fire Event – AGRN 1242 Category B Emergency Works.

In January 2026 a significant fire event impacted a number of areas within the municipality, resulting in damage to roadside infrastructure, including safety signage and guideposts. The assets play an important role in providing road users with clear guidance, delineation of the roadway, and warning of potential hazards. A number of guideposts and approximately 274 safety signs were burnt or significantly damaged as a result of the fire. To maintain road safety and restore functionality of the road network, Council is undertaking this project to replace the damaged safety signage and guideposts.

The affected infrastructure is critical for providing road users with clear guidance, hazard awareness, and safe navigation through the impacted areas. This project is required to restore essential road safety infrastructure and ensure compliance with the current road safety standards. Reinstating the damaged signage and guideposts will improve visibility, support safe vehicle operation and reduce the risk of accidents for road users travelling on these roads. Timely replacement is necessary to return the road environment to a safe operating condition.
