· Please submit your questions via the Forum quoting the RFT number 15/9281/26 - Forum Question Closing date is 14 April 12:00pm

Scope:

The intent is to convert land, from tree plantations, back into arable agricultural land.

The methodology for both harvest and rehabilitation will be discussed and agreed by all parties prior to commencing of works (for each site). The methodology may change during ongoing operations, if deliverables are not being achieved efficiently.

Engagement will be on an hourly rate (operating) basis.

The harvesting scope may include:

(a) harvesting, stockpiling and the loading of merchantable timber, and

(b) transport of merchantable timber.

(c) The equipment required may include harvester, forestry shovel, excavator (w/ ripper and shaker bucket), dozer and forwarder/buncher

The rehabilitation scope may include:

(a) removing stumps (mulching to 200mm below ground level),

(b) removing stumps (physically extraction),

(c) windrowing non-merchantable timber, including slash larger than 100mm OD and/or 500mm in length,

(d) burning non-merchantable timber, and

(e) resolving any terrain issues (so as the paddock is reasonably workable with tractors).

(f) The equipment required may include mulcher, forestry shovel, excavator (w/ ripper and shaker bucket), dozer (with stick rake), grader and pin wheel rake

GVW doesn’t anticipate that one single contractor will have the capability to complete the entire scope and will likely engage multiple contractors.

GVW encourages contractors who have the capability for at least one competent of the proposed scope to submit a proposal.

GVW reserves the right to engage multiple contractors, and/or award all works to the one contractor.

On conclusion of the harvesting and rehabilitation works, GVW will engage an independent tractor contractor to laser grade and sow the paddocks into pasture. This scope is not included in this Invitation to Supply process.

A Briefing Session will be held, via Microsoft Teams with representatives of the Corporation.
