Tender Details
Tender Description
The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) are developing a new access road, car park, trail head and day use area at Frenchman Peak in Cape Le Grand National Park (approximately a 1 (One) hour drive east of Esperance).
The proposed development will provide improved facilities and greater parking capacity for the popular existing walking trail to the top of Frenchman Peak. The proposed car park area utilises an existing cleared gravel pit area for much of its footprint and will also include a trail head orientation area, a sheltered picnic area, and a toilet.
DBCA has prepared concept drawings for the parking area and requires a Geotechnical and Civil Engineer (Engineer) to provide the following services (defined in further detail in the Specification):
- Determine physical and mechanical properties of site soil as a foundation for the road and provide recommendations
- Determine suitability of existing Frenchman Peak access road and car park to be removed and recycled as road base material.
- Construction drawings and written technical specification for tender
- An opinion of probable cost (OPC)
- Construction supervision and assistance to DBCA Project Manager.
The following civil works are proposed:
- Car park, nominally for 66 cars and 11 long vehicles, in two-coat seal and constructed to a high use standard.
- Access off Lucky Bay Road (approximately 200m).
- All associated collector paths and drainage (overland flow preferred).
